What is Mediation?
Wait and Partners specialises in facilitative Mediation. This is a structured, interactive process where an impartial third party assists disputing parties in resolving conflicts through communication and negotiation techniques. Unlike court proceedings, mediation is voluntary, confidential, without prejudice and focuses on finding a mutually agreeable solution. It provides a space for creative solutions.
Mediation vs. Litigation
Mediation is a collaborative process where both parties work together with a mediator to find a resolution. It is informal, quicker, less expensive, and confidential.
Litigation is a formal, court-based process where a judge makes the final decision. It is typically more expensive, time-consuming, inflexible and public.
Our Process
At Wait and Partners, our mediation process is designed to be smooth and effective. We focus on understanding the root cause of the conflict and help both parties reach a common ground. Our process involves the following steps:
- Pre-mediation Consultation: A free 30min discussion with both parties to understand the process of mediation, its benefits and explain the agreement to mediate.
- Agreement to Mediate: Both parties agree and sign an agreement to voluntarily participate in mediation.
- Mediation Sessions: The mediator facilitates open communication, guiding both parties toward a solution.
- Resolution: If an agreement is reached, it is documented and signed by both parties.
Our Goal
Our goal is to assist parties in getting closure on the matter at hand. Closure looks different for everyone. We are here to identify what that looks like and facilitate a process to reaching that point. We open each person leaves mediation feeling restored and satisfied with the outcome
